Underworld: Evolutions

Over the weekend I found my way into a theater playing the sequel to Underworld and I would have to say it made quite the awesome sequel. The reason I emphasized "sequel" and did not just say awesome movie is that like the Matrix movies Evolutions took quite some time to make its way to the big screen and really doesn't stand well on its own. Anyone who wants to see Evolutions should definitely watch the original Underworld before hand, it will make a lot of story elements easier to follow. There was one uncalled for scene in this movie that shifted the mood to drastically, but besides that I don't really have any gripes.
If you liked the first Underworld you will should like Evolutions, it has more action, more blood, and twists to the original story. My personal disappointment with Evolutions was a lack of my favorite character in any of the sequences that happen in the past. The dead people for the most part stay dead and out of the camera in this sequel, which leaves room for some fresh new faces that won't disappoint. Regardless if you were not a fan of the first film I would suggest you give the sequel a spin as a lot of things where fleshed out from the original story and the action is above and beyond anything the first movie had to offer.

side note: I still have one question ask about these movies: Why do vampires need flash lights? Nocturnal hunters should be adapt to dark environments correct.
